Frequently Asked Questions

Everything businesses ask us before getting started — answered honestly, without the sales spin.

Affiliate Marketing

How long before we see results from an affiliate program?+
Most programs generate meaningful affiliate-driven revenue within 60–90 days of launch. In the first 30 days we focus on platform setup, partner recruitment outreach, and onboarding. By day 60, activated partners are typically generating their first conversions. Month three onwards is where compounding growth begins. That said, timelines vary by niche, commission competitiveness, and how quickly partners activate — we set clear expectations in your initial strategy session.
Do we need an existing affiliate platform before working with you?+
No. If you already have a platform, we audit it and assess whether it is the right fit for your goals. If you do not have one, we recommend and fully configure the right platform as part of our onboarding. We have hands-on experience with Impact, ShareASale, PartnerStack, Refersion, Awin, CJ Affiliate, and Rakuten — and we select based on your business model, not preference.
What commission structure should we offer affiliates?+
This depends entirely on your product margins, average order value, and the competitive landscape in your niche. We analyse all three before making a recommendation. As a general principle, your commission needs to be compelling enough to attract quality partners while protecting your margins. We model this out during the strategy phase so you go to market with a structure that works commercially from day one.
How do you recruit affiliates differently from just listing on a network?+
Network listings are passive — you post and hope the right partners find you. Our recruitment is active and targeted. We identify specific publishers, newsletters, comparison sites, YouTube channels, and content creators whose audiences match your customer profile, then approach them directly with a personalised proposition. This results in higher-quality partners, faster activation, and significantly better conversion rates than passive network discovery.
Can you manage an affiliate program we already have running?+
Yes. We take over existing programs regularly. We start with a full audit — assessing the platform setup, current partner quality, commission structure, compliance status, and reporting. From there we identify what needs fixing, what can be optimised, and where the growth opportunities are. Most inherited programs have significant untapped potential that active management unlocks within the first 60 days.
How do you handle affiliate fraud and brand compliance?+
We actively monitor every program for trademark bidding, coupon stacking, cookie stuffing, unapproved promotional methods, and any activity that inflates your affiliate costs or distorts attribution data. Violations are investigated immediately and handled according to a clear escalation process. We also set explicit terms during onboarding so partners understand what is and is not permitted from day one.

SEO

How long does SEO take to show results?+
Honest answer: meaningful organic ranking improvements typically take 3–6 months, with compounding growth from month six onwards. Technical fixes and on-page optimisation can show results faster — sometimes within weeks. Content and link-building take longer to move rankings but produce the most durable results. We set realistic milestones at the start of every engagement and report against them monthly.
Do you guarantee first-page rankings?+
No — and you should be sceptical of any agency that does. Google's algorithm involves hundreds of signals and no agency controls all of them. What we can guarantee is that our methodology is sound, our execution is disciplined, and our track record speaks clearly. We have ranked 3,000+ keywords in competitive verticals. We show you that evidence upfront and let it speak for itself.
Will my rankings drop if I stop working with you?+
Well-earned rankings are durable. Content that genuinely answers search intent and backlinks from credible publications do not disappear when a retainer ends. That said, SEO is an ongoing discipline — competitors are always moving, algorithms evolve, and new opportunities emerge. We structure our work to build permanent value, but the most successful clients treat SEO as a long-term investment rather than a one-time project.
What is included in your SEO audit?+
Our deep SEO audit covers: full technical crawl (indexation, crawlability, Core Web Vitals, structured data, mobile performance), on-page analysis of key pages (title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, keyword alignment, internal linking), backlink profile assessment (quality, authority, toxic links), competitive gap analysis (what competitors rank for that you do not), and keyword opportunity mapping. Delivered as a prioritised action plan, not a raw data export.

Content

How do you ensure content quality at scale?+
Every piece starts with a research brief approved before writing begins. Writing is done by subject-matter specialists — not generalist writers faking expertise. Each piece is reviewed by a senior editor for accuracy, SEO alignment, and tone before delivery. We have published over 250,000 pieces using this process. The system scales without quality dropping because the brief and review stages catch problems before they reach you.
Do you write content for regulated or technical industries?+
Yes. We work across B2B SaaS, fintech, legal technology, healthcare technology, eCommerce, and professional services — all industries where accuracy matters and generalised content fails. We research thoroughly, use subject-matter-appropriate language, and where necessary work with your team to validate technical claims before publishing.
Who owns the content once it is delivered?+
You do. All content we produce is delivered as your intellectual property. We retain no rights, licensing claims, or usage restrictions. The content is yours to publish, repurpose, translate, or modify as you see fit.

Working With Us

How do you charge — retainer, project, or performance?+
Our affiliate management and SEO engagements are retainer-based, structured around the ongoing work required to produce compounding results. We do not take percentage cuts of affiliate revenue — your commission budget is entirely yours. Specific projects such as audits, platform setups, and one-off content packages are priced on a fixed-fee basis. We are transparent about pricing from the first conversation.
How many clients do you take on at once?+
We deliberately limit client intake. Every client receives senior team attention — not junior execution managed by an account handler. We review capacity honestly before taking on new work. If we cannot give your engagement the attention it deserves, we will tell you rather than overcommit and underdeliver.
Do you work with businesses outside the UK and US?+
Yes. We work with B2B businesses across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. Affiliate marketing, SEO, and content are global disciplines and our team operates across time zones. The only constraint is that our content work is currently English-language only.
What does the onboarding process look like?+
Week one: strategy session, account setup, access provisioning, and baseline audit. Week two: strategy document delivered and approved. Week three: execution begins — platform configuration, content briefs, outreach sequences, or whatever is relevant to your engagement. By end of month one, you have a clear picture of what is being done, why, and what to expect from month two onwards. No ambiguity, no mystery.
Can we work with you alongside our in-house team?+
Absolutely — and we prefer it. We integrate with your team's workflows, share everything transparently, and structure our work so your team understands what we are doing at every stage. Several of our longest-standing clients use ChampionClaw as a specialist extension of their in-house marketing function rather than a replacement for it.
